Armor SX5000 WB High Solids Silane-Siloxane Penetrating Concrete Sealer
The Armor SX5000 WB is a water-based Department of Transportation approved Silane-Siloxane penetrating concrete sealer. It penetrates deep into the substrate where it chemically reacts to form a hydrophobic barrier within the pores that reduces the absorption of water by up to 95%. The Armor SX5000 WB is the best sealer for unsealed concrete, brick, and masonry surfaces if you are looking for a sealer that will protect without changing the look or feel of the substrate. Prefer a solvent based sealer? Consider the Armor SX5000 instead!
The Armor SX5000 WB contains up to 5X more active ingredients than competing products on the market. The Armor SX5000 WB is ready to apply right out of the bottle! Just pour into your sprayer or rolling pan and apply. The Armor SX5000 WB is a breathable sealer that will allow the substrate to properly breathe. It will not trap water or moisture below the surface. The Armor SX5000 WB will not change the look or color of the substrate, and it will not leave behind a visible surface film. It works entirely below the surface and will maintain the natural unsealed look of the substrate. The Armor SX5000 WB will reduce the absorption of water on the surface by up to 95% therefore reducing damage and deterioration caused by water absorption such as cracking, spalling, pitting. The Armor SX5000 WB is approved by the Department of Transportation in several states as a penetrating concrete sealer. Not only is it DOT approved, but it has been used by the DOT in several states to protect roadways and bridges against deterioration caused by freeze thaw cycles and water absorption. The Armor SX5000 WB is manufactured in the USA! We do not use recycled or imported resins in our formulas. The Armor SX5000 WB can last up to 10 years before the need for reapplication.
Which is better, the SX5000 WB (water based) or SX5000 (solvent based)? The life and performance benefits are identical between the Armor SX5000 and the Armor SX5000 WB, so one sealer is not better than the other. The ONLY difference is that the Armor SX5000 is solvent based and the Armor SX5000 WB is water based. Which sealer you choose is entirely based on your preference. Some customers prefer solvent based sealers and others prefer water based which is why we manufacturer both. If you don’t want to invest in a solvent resistant sprayer and are worried about noxious fumes or odors, the Armor SX5000 WB may be a better option for your application as it is water based.
How Does It Work?
The Armor SX5000 WB penetrates into the substrate where it chemically reacts to form a hydrophobic (water repellent) barrier within the pores. The hydrophobic barrier, which can last for up to 7-10 years, will reduce the absorption of surface water by up to 95%! By reducing the absorption of water on the surface, damage and deterioration caused by water absorption, such as cracking, spalling, and pitting will also be reduced. Even after the bead goes away, you will notice that the sealed surface dries faster and looks cleaner for years.
The Armor SX5000 WB is the perfect sealer for unsealed concrete, paver, brick, stucco and natural stone surfaces. If you want to protect your substrate without changing the look or color, the Armor SX5000 WB is the best sealer for your application. Common applications include concrete and paver driveways, walkways, brick patios, pool decks, garage floors, above grade foundation walls, cinderblock retaining walls, basements, and chimneys.
The Armor SX5000 WB helps to reduce damage and deterioration caused by water absorption such as cracking, spalling, and pitting.
Coverage & How to Apply
One gallon of the Armor SX5000 WB will cover up to 175 square feet per coat. Two coats are recommended to achieve the maximum life and performance benefits. Coverage can vary depending on the porosity of substrate and the application method.
The Armor SX5000 WB is very easy to apply.
Step 1: Make sure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any other sealers or coatings. If the surface has been pressure washed, allow at least 24 hours for the substrate to completely dry.
